Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone would know why my showers have low Cold water pressure? This gets super challenging in the summer when all you want is a cool shower. Hot water pressure is fine. It is a gas infinity system and we've already had the Rinnai guy come round to check the system out and couldn't find a problem. Pressure at our other taps are good. We've tried changing shower heads including removing the water saver inside the showere heads. Any tips/info appreciated as to where to next.

You could call a plumber. Sounds like some kind of restriction on that tap / pipe if the others are ok.

Yes, sounds like I've exhausted all my DIY avenues and will need a plumber :(

Some shower mixers have a small flow control valve underneath the mixer faceplates. Or they might have a fixed flow regulator. They are used to match the cold flow to the hot flow when you have low pressure hot water.

Call a plumber to get them removed.

Another possibility, less likely but something to look for if the obvious flow-restriction valve option isn't present, is a cowboy builder who did the plumbing themselves and used something like half-inch copper pipe they'd salvaged from somewhere, where the pipes themselves aren't capable of carrying more water than they already are.

Have just resolved a similar problem with our shower except ours is an unequal pressure system (low pressure hot water with the header tank overflowing occasionally). No pressure problems with other taps around the house, but shower mixer is one of those integrated ceramic types. Shower had a low cold pressure as well as the expected low hot pressure, and was resolved by getting the pressure reducing valve replaced. It seemed to also have some effect on the cold pressure as well.

Time to find a new industry!
