Hello all!

We have a water dispenser that uses Thermoelectric module to cool the water. Currently its no longer cooling, and when I checked it, it seems that module is working. Tested it, and the plate has a noticeable temperature differential between the heat and cold side. Checked the voltage going through it and it is around 13.8Vdc and reading around 4.3 Amps. This seems to be a descent reading for a standard 40x40 60W thermoelectric module. With this test result, I put everything back, but still no luck, water still stays at tap water temp. Any ideas and suggestion will be much appreciated. ( I know buying a new one is an option) but its a good learning exercise for everyone if we are able to fix this. :) Cheers.

Peltier device aren't very efficient, so it doesn't take much of a fault for the efficiency to drop to the point that they're almost useless.
If the device itself seems to be working, but less efficient than it used to be, then look at how well the heat sink / heat transfer plate is attached to the device - has something come loose, no thermal paste etc / silicone grease etc, is the fan working properly etc.

All caps (aka "shouting") isn't considered good form, even in thread headers. It looks bad and is unnecessary when the forum format means that the thread title is obvious. Also against forum user guidelines on GZ.

Thank you for the responses. I will try to replenish the paste and see how it hoes before buying a new one. Again my sincere apology for causing the drama because of the Caps in the title. Lesson learned.
