I'm looking at getting a retractable insect screen installed for a double door ranch slider. Can anyone recommend a supplier? I got a few quotes already but they're all well over the $1,000 mark which is more than I'm willing to pay.

It would preferably be something I could install myself.

We have these, they cost $2.4K for a french door and a standard door in 2022, they look good and work well. We wanted them to open the doors when it's hot inside, but because of the microclimate around our house (back deck gets hots and big fences) it doesn't really cool the house much. We mostly use air conditioning.

Thanks, they look good but I was hoping to find something cheaper.

There isn't much competition in this area so doubt you will find an installed one much cheaper. Who is offering you it for that price as I am looking at options myself?

You're right, while there's a number of different companies offering them it seems most of them are acting as agents for the same 2 or 3 suppliers. All the quotes I've got so far are around 1.5K.
