What I've done so far:
1. Sign up for a unotelly account
2. Change DNS settings on smart TV and change smart hub region to the US - TV updated itself with US apps including netflix but got rid of TVNZOD
3. Everything works fine but now I obviously don't have tvnz on demand - not sure if i can have the best of both worlds here?

You should leave the TV region setting to NZ- this will make both the tvnz app and Netflix app available.

To get US Netflix, the only thing you need to do is set the unotelly region to US for Netflix and change your TV's DNS to unotelly's. If it's still showing NZ Netflix, then you may need to block public dns lookups in your router.

Change the Samsung tv region back to NZ.
Since we have Netflix now the app should be available when set to NZ region on the tv.
To change the Netflix region use the region selector from your DNS provider.
Make sure you set the DNS setting on the tv, or your router, to your DNS providers.

Thanks for your input, although i do know how to change the region in unotelly( Dynamo) for use on my pc, I'm hoping to get the exact procedure, as in step by step on how to Change DNS settings on the Samsung smart TV and change the smart hub region to the US, so that I can use the app in the smart hub directly.

We have unblock-us DNS settings in the router and still get both TVNZ and TV3 On Demand (but not SkyGo).

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

We have unblock-us DNS settings in the router and still get both TVNZ and TV3 On Demand (but not SkyGo).

Yeah sky go via a browser should work with this setup, but not iOS. There's some fiddling you can do on your router (if it uses dnsmasq) to force certain sites to use your nz isp DNS.
