Hi there good people
Has anyone had to replace a remote key for a Pug? I bought a 207 GTI that only came with the non-remote key and I'd love to get a remote key for it.
Thanks in advance

I have a 407, had to change the battery and reprogram the remote (the manual I have tells you what to do).
If the 207 is similar, it is a very simple process.
Then try and use the remote.
Please note this is for the Peugeot provided key and remote, I'm not sure if it will work the same with a third party remote.
Thanks!
I wonder if there's anyone out there that has bought a remote from anywhere other than a Peugeot dealership? If it's anything like BMW they'll charge $600 plus for a new fob coded to my car.
If it's going to cost $600 I'll just use the key the old fashioned way
Where are you? If you're on or near the North Shore, this guy has been really good for us in the past: http://carkeys.co.nz/albany-northshore-locksmith.html
We had a similar situation (though not with a Peugeot) of having the physical/emergency key only and not the remote, and he was able to provide a fully working remote at about half the cost the dealership quoted us.

This is due to the transponder chip. Expect similar results with the Pug
Hi
Crazy we have just done the same.
Brought a key which arrived yesterday (think it was off aliexpress) will let you know how we get on as the instructions provided in this post will try them tonight.
We live in CHCH and I spoke to a guy in Hornby who thought it would be about 300 to supply and key a new remote.
Oh wow such great info thanks everyone!
Good luck @livealittle - I was foolish enough to try that with the BMW key but, of course, for the Beemer you need to have the dealer code the key for you anyway. Let me know if it works out!
I'll try a locksmith and see what they say
Thanks

Do you have the tools to code a transponder on a car newer than 1995 roughly?
Is this key to just get in for emergency or operate the car? No key from Ali express will start a car with a transponder chip. You may have varied success with remotes too as some regions use different freq.
