I have a Leaf and will soon be staying with my daughter and son inlaw.

They have an external weather proof 10amp power point which i have used in the past to top up the Leaf.

I am wondering if there is a rain proof box to house the EVPower portable charging box while I charge the Leaf outside overnight.

My apologies if this has been covered before.

FYI IP66 = Protected from total dust ingress. Protected from high pressure water jets from any direction.

Looks to be IP66 already.

We have the 16A caravan socket version of that, and pretty much leave it outside all year round; it hangs off the side of the house, so is partially protected by the eaves. We're just careful to ensure the plug that goes into the Leaf remains dry - it does have that rubber fitting, but we also try to ensure it's left somewhere dry and protected (the kids not so good at remembering this!).

Yeah, there's nothing stopping someone coming onto our section and stealing the charging cable, and it is visible from the street. If it was my car, I'd probably be more careful about hiding it, but it's my wife's and I doubt I could convince her to do this! A risk we take... perhaps even attaching it to the wall with a bracket of some kind would be advisable in our case!

As far as 'locking' it when connected to the car - yep, there's a switch that supposedly locks the cable in place, but its value is questionable. My wife could easily slip her fingers down to release the catch, and a screwdriver or similar tool can achieve the same.
