Hi Team,
Got a 2013 PHEV Outlander with stock Pioneer AVIC-ZH77. The unit is all Japanese and no option for English language. So far got Bluetooth Audio working but hoping to find out if:
1. There's any way to fit a MMCS head unit? If so, where to find one; or
2. Change the language to English (Head unit) without replacement.

Very unlikley to be any way to convert it to English.

If you want an Mitsubishi Headunit, then wreckers are going to be the best place to get one. Why not just get a nice Carplay/Android Auto after market unit?

There are commercial services offering to sell you the bits to do an English conversion. You would need to verify that your head unit compatible.

Does the head unit control anything else in the car except for the audio? AC, cameras, battery readings etc?

I used this company recently to convert my car stereo from Japanese to English.

https://www.facebook.com/cardvdsolution

While there is nothing special about mine, it is a custom size and there is no drop in replacement, I have had this for nearly two years and it makes a world of difference.

It did not give me NZ maps.

Give them a go they may be able to help.
