What's your policy on running a mailserver on your KVM hosts?

I can't find mention of it on your website.

Edit: It's also not clear - is this discount for the life of the plan or first year only?

Hello, great question!

Renewal rates will be the exact same, no price increase.

As for mailing, no issue as we do not block port 25 or filter ports in anyway. Of course, assuming the mail is legitimate you will not encounter any issues.

For comparison, an AWS c5.large with 2 cores and 4GB ram is the closest I can find. With 1TB bandwidth out it costs US$155 per month (inbound is free with AWS). Even a t3.small with 2 cores, 2GB RAM, 55GB disk and 100GB bandwidth in each direction is $25 a month. My little t3a.nano running a few low volume websites only costs me about $5 a month though, but low volume and very small server.

The price seems almost too good to be true? Fully used that's $337 a month / $4K a year to pay for the hardware, bandwidth, power, maintenance, support, etc. Reviews everywhere seem good though.

Any possibility of getting Debian 10 added to the mix of supported operating systems? I know I could install with Debian 9 and do a apt-dist-upgrade but would much prefer a fresh installation. Thanks!

What is the policy on changing the OS after purchase? Can I change this after I purchase? or do I have to select and stick with the one OS?

Thank you, you can change your OS at anytime no limit!

We run SolusVM control panel so you most things from there :)

Hi @timmmay, we realise our pricing is low, but we’ve managed to make it sustainable. Users often even ask if pricing will remain the same on renewal, absolutely yes :) give us a shot, you won’t be disappointed. Performance is amazing, pricing is excellent and support is even better. One thing I would say is I am really impressed at least with the speed test server performance -

was downloading at 150mbps from their server in LA.

Now whether it is sustainable once more load goes on, who knows, but that's the same question for all VPS services where contention ratio's are a thing.

I'm just trying to think of a small project that would justify me purchasing one, because it seems like something handy to have.

Well I bought one - I've been paying $10USD a month at DigitalOcean to run my mailserver, now I can run it for 1/4 that price for the same (well, slightly better) specs.

Will soak it for a month or so first of all, make sure mail from it isn't going to get blacklisted etc etc. But for the price it was hard to beat!
