Hi - I have a Merida E160 e-bike with a Shimano DU-E8000 motor that has done 13000km (90% on-road) and is getting a bit noisy. I am thinking of either replacing the motor, or buying a new bike. One complicating factor is that I have 2 batteries, which I would want to be compatible with a new motor, should I choose to go in that direction. Any recommendations?

Effectively, you'd need to change the motor for an older EP8 motor to be compatible with your batteries, or you could sell the bike and the batteries and get a newer, more efficient eBike with larger battery capacity and modern battery management, which will be probably better than your current two-battery solution.
