Hi all

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experiences (good or bad) flying long haul with China Southern.  I'm thinking of travelling to Europe later this year and their flights seem to often end up the cheapest option.  Obviously I have never flown with them so I have no idea what I might be letting myself in for.

Thanks for any feedback

Lee

My girlfriend flew with them to fly to Nanjing though Guangzhou a couple of months ago. No problems, arrived on time and no lost luggage.

It's a budget airline. It was what I expected of one.

Don't expect the highest of service, but it does get you from A to B, so in that regards they're not bad from my experience.

I am flying them for the first time later this week, CHC to Guangzhou. If you are in transit in Guangzhou for more than 6 hours you get a free hotel room.

I shall report back in 2 week when I return.

Heard good things. I didnt fly them to shenzhen because it had 2 transfers in china airports and was only a few 100 cheaper than Air NZ to HK

Used them once 2 years ago. new 787. service was alright, actually better than expected, but I can't stand Chinese food :( Best movies selection during the flight! :D

They provided free hotel in Guangzhou with free transfers to/from airport.

Used them a couple of years ago. Just like any other economy class seat I've been in. They served Asian style food. The service from their staff was pretty good.
