Hi There!
We are 10 days in Singapore next June.
What are the cost effective options for using my Mobile whilst there? I am with VF but they don't seem to roam in Singapore (!??!)
I will need about 3-4GB of data over that time I estimate.

100GB over 5 days!
Just a word of warning that you'll probably be asked for your passport when getting the SIM, even for prepaid. Don't leave it in the hotel like I did...
If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.
Not sure who told you VF don't have roaming in Singapore......
From my experience (a few business trips over the last 5 years) Singtel is far more reliable out of the 4 carriers (datawise). However last time I went in October with all the free Wifi I just chose to use the Spark roaming data bundle (500mb) which was just enough for a week. In comparison I usually go through about 4GB a month when in NZ.
I think that the OP is meaning that $5 a day roaming isn't available in S'pore
Yes.. Sorry, I meant $5 roaming. I wouldn't non $5 roam unless it was an emergency given the standard charges for roaming.

From memory, the 100 GB promo will only give you 3G speeds.
I think Spark provides a better deal with Asia. May not be unlimited though.
I have used Singtel and 7-11's own brand SIM cards in the past. Both worked fine and at reasonable price, but that was a few year ago.
Also Singapore has a great free wifi network. It is called wireless@sg it is sponsored by the Singapore Government but run jointly by 3 Telcos - Singtel, M1 and Starhub. They have combined over 3000 wifi hot spots around the country. You can get free access by filling out a form and having a SMS sent to a mobile. One account can access hotspots from any of the three companies. You can also pay more to get better access, in the past I have found the free access is fine.
I have have always used these without issue.

There are some booths at the airport on your way out, they will try and sell you some other more costly deal, if you ask for the other sims chances are they will have them, you just have to ask for them by name, and passport required. The speeds are super fast so there is no issue there.

simple logic.
