Hi everyone, I'm quite new here so forgive me if this comes across as naive or is posted in the wrong place.

I am about to ditch the old CRT and after some recommendations for a new set up please - I have limited experience in all this - I just know that I want a decent LCD TV and be able to access internet / apps etc.

Research suggests not to bother with a "Smart TV" but to go with a seperate android box (which suits me as I like Android).

What I'm after;
- 40 - 42" LCD screen (Which brand? Which model?)
- Surround Sound - basic but good
- Android Box (dongle type could be OK, although most models I've come across seem to have just the 1 USB port and I am thinking I will need at least 2 (1 for HDD and 1 for wireless keyboard n mouse)

I have a wireless router next to the TV already.
Budget for all this is ideally under 1k but can go to 1.5

Please offer suggestions - there is so much to choose from I am confused !

Thank in advance

In regards to Android sticks, take a look at one that will work with a powered USB hub, that way you can add a wireless keyboard + HDD + Skype camera etc etc.
It's a cool wee addition, especially if you just want to plug and play.

Ok thanks.

Just trying to decide whether it's better to go with something like this:
http://www.smartdroid.co.nz/collections/all/products/x5-bundle

Or whether to find something cheaper on eBay.com.au

What do you recommend?

Alright, research so far has lead me to the Android TV MK808 - seems to be the current product for getting internet on the TV!
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dual-Core-MK808-Android-4-1-TV-Box-Stick-Mini-PC-A9-Processor-RK3066-HDMI-TV-Box-/360657292099?pt=AU_MultiFormatMediaPlayers&hash=item53f8d98b43

Now I need to figure out the right (best) HDTV, and a surround sound set up.
Have found this:

Suggestions welcome :-)
