Hi There,
I'm trying to set up nextpvr to use with xmbc. I'm in NZ and am using a pinacle pctv usb tuner. This is working a-ok under win 7 (x64) WMC and I can use / rec live tv fine (freeview HD)  in there. Not sure what settings to use in NextPVR in the decoder settings. NextPVR has detected the tuner and scanned all the channels (freeview channels), but I just get a black screen on the live tv. I have installed the SAP6 pack but no joy, Can anyone advise on what codec pack / settings I need to get live tv running?
Thanks,
F

Using the 'Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder' for H.264, and the either the Arcsoft or Monogram or LAV audio decoder for HE-AAC should be good.

Cheers, have got those settings done but still no picture. Also the sys tray icon is red? Are there any other settings I could be missing?
Thx

Those settings should get you a picture.

Maybe try scheduling a recording. If you end with a zero byte file, then it sounds like the device is delivering no data. If you end up with a correct sounding file size, can you play that file in NextPVR, or 3rd party player (like VLC).

Hi,
Thanks very much for the help. I can get the epg, but don't appear to have a recording file anywhere. I've checked drivers for tuner and they are up to date.

It sounds like your device is delivering no data then. Best bet is probably to reproduce the problem, then post a description and the logs on the NextPVR forums.
