Guys, can anyone out there give me a good low down report on this Sony model, and also how easy is to mount it on a Hikurangi TV stand with the wall mount attached to the stand.... Hope you all understand where I am coming from.

I should also point out that the TV in question is the 55 inch .

Yup, that should be fine.
Looking at the schematics on-line, it looks like the OMP Hikurangi has 722mm separation possible on the bracket itself, so it should be okay. While it says it's rated for a 52" TV, that would be a conservative estimate, taking in account the very heavy plasma TV's. So a light LED like the Sony KDL55W800A should be fine.
