I been told that velocitymicro is one of the best Home theater PC - so I decided to check them out.

But for the life of me, I just cant access their web site.

The web site [www.velocitymicro.com ] does not accept any connection from either my Xtra or Ihug connections.

I simply get the message:

TTP 403.6 - Forbidden: IP address rejected
Internet Information Services

Can anyone else (living in NZ) access their web site?

It must be accessible by other countries, as Google has a cached copy of their home page.

I am connecting fine, from my TelstraClear connection.

I read bad experiences from a couple of fellow webmasters who received not one, not two, but three units with problems. The units were "fixed" just to be received again with problems - lose HDD, faulty video cards, etc.

Thank you for the reply, Mauricio.

Incidently I only just discovered this site - it is got to be one of the most easy to use community sites I been to. I am finding it really useful.

Hmmm. I am on Xtra broadband - and I could not acess it even now. I even tried rebooting my ADSL router (hoping it will give me a different Dynamic Ip address that would let me in but still getting the 403.6 message.

Infact it says:

You are not authorized to view this page

You do not have permission to view this directory or page from the Internet address of your Web browser.

If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please contact the Web site administrator by using the e-mail address or phone number listed on the www.velocitymicro.com home page

Which is pretty funny - because if you can not access the web site how are you supposed to find the email / phone on the home page as per above!!

Anyway. I have already crossed Velocitymicro from my short list.

I also cannot access the site from an Xtra broadband connection and have exactly the same error. Dynamic address in the 219.88.170.nnn range if that makes any difference. Can access it okay from an ihug connection, although page loads slowly.

Move to New Zealand's best fibre broadband service (affiliate link). Free setup code: R587125ERQ6VE. Note that to use Quic Broadband you must be comfortable with configuring your own router.
