I have just ordered two Roku 3s from Amazon and am wondering about the content availability. My primary use for them will be as Plex clients, but can I download the Plex app to the Roku using an NZ account or will I have to use UnblockUS to create a US account to just get the app?

With an NZ account yes you can get plex.

But to really make a Roku shine (with netflix, amazon instant, m-go, hulu and you name it), Create your account under a US proxy or DNS service.  Given there's no NZ channels you wont be missing anything.

Great, thanks. I may as well create a US account even if I don't use anything right away. My only concern is not being able to get TVNZ / 3 on demand if I use UnblockUS or something. I haven't looked into that much, I'm not sure if my router will allow me assign different DNS settings to different devices.

If it's relevant, we use a DNS service (Getflix) and it doesn't interupt our use of TVNZ On Demand etc at all via the computers or iPad.

While not an expert in this area, I've read enough here that suggests people either enter the DNS settigns in the settings of each specific device that they want to access such external sites or put the DNS settings in the router (so affect all devices on the network - this is what I've done and we've had no issues from doing this).

I use unblock us and I think I had to do some trickery to get tvnz ondemand to work via IOS (it's fine on browser) - as on ios they use brightcove which is used by other services as well (a canadian one I didn't care about).
