I am in the UK. The machine runs Win 8.1 64-bit and has a TBS 6285 quad DVB-T2 card.

I unzipped "EPG Collector V040100 Install.zip", unzipped "EPG Collector v4.1 Fixpak 19.zip" and copied the contents over the contents of "EPG Collector V040100 Install".

Fired up EPG Centre. On the Tuning tab, selected "Any available tuner", in the DVB Terrestrial section selected UK, Crystal Palace, 482 MHz, EIT and added it. On the Output tab, chose to save the file to the desktop, checked "Don't log small gaps between programmes" and "Don't log excluded channels".

On the Channels tab, excluded the adult and shopping channels. On the Advanced tab, checked "Use FreeSat Huffman tables", set Country, Area, Region, Character Set (UTF-8) and Language.

Then did a Run->Collect EPG Data.

I got an error: The collection process has completed with exit code 5. A program exception occurred.

When I acknowledged this, EPG Centre exited. I fired it up again and looked at the General log. I can't find where this file is stored and I can't copy/paste from the window, so here are a few relevant lines:

Collecting EIT data Pid handler 0x2CB CRC failed
( a few more like this )
The program has failed with an exception of type IndexOutOf RangeException
Exception index was outside the bounds of the array
Location at DVBServices.EITSection.Process(Byte[] byteData, Mpeg2ExtendedHeader mpeg2Header)

Use EPG Centre to do a transport stream dump, 30 seconds should be enough.

Upload it somewhere and post the link.

There are other UK terrestrial users so this should work OK.

OK I started with a fresh install, ie extracted the main ZIP then the fixpax into the same folder. This time the only setting changes I made was to choose a multiplex to scan, enable FreeSat Huffman tables, and choose a location for the created file. I still had the exception.

I did a 10 second transport stream dump - the file can be found in http://www.twoducks.org/EPGCollector/.

The dump processed OK when I ran it so maybe it's not long enough.

Create another dump but this time for 300 seconds (ie 5 minutes) and put 0x11,0x12 in the pid list on the dump screen so the file will be significantly smaller than it would be otherwise.

Tick the hexadecimal values box as well.

That processed OK as well and this time the data was complete.

Can you upload your log file? It should be located at ProgramData/Geekzone/EPG Collector and it's called EPG Collector.log

Dang! This time it didn't crash. Would you believe it.

BTW I found the log file in C:\users\xbmc\appdata\local\geekzone. I uploaded it anyway - all looks OK.

I'll keep playing round and if I get another exception I will post the log file.

Forgot to ask - I presume this:

<episode-num system="xmltv_ns">/51507 . /51507/016 . 0</episode-num>

is FreeView CRID data, yes?

The data that was causing the problem has probably just stopped being broadcast.

Yes, that's the Freeview CRID. It's dependent on the 'Format of episode tag' you choose on the Output tab. I don't think there are any episode numbers broadcast on UK terrestrial so I would set it to 'Valid season and episode numbers only' in case they ever start broadcasting them. The CRID is not of any use unless the xmltv file is processed by something else that can use it.
