Hi All,

Im new here and have been searching for information with regards to cables for getting a better picture for sky.

I have found some cables that go from Scart to componet and just would like to know if that works with the current sky boxes ( I have the small silver one )   as I have seen on another post ( over 1 year ago ) that people have been recommending a converter.....

Question is does a scart to component cable work with sky currently and can anyone recommend a specific cable?

Thanks Brett

Yes the little silver sky box DS-230 does support component video out its TV SCART, all you need is either a suitable adaptor or cable. Unfortunately the adaptors (DSE P6699 $19 and Jaycar PA3667 $15) dont give access to audio aswell as component video, however the Jaycar WQ7255 for $47.90 will give you both component video and audio. Dont worry about the mention of RGB with these products, it just happens that the Component video (YCrCb) is sent down the RGB wires of the SCART.

To obtain Component out of the Sky box go into the Advance setup menu and set the SCART settings for the TV SCART to Component which will then lead you on to set the VCR SCART settings which presumably you will set to composite.
