Kiaora guys,

longtime listener first time caller.

if i have a dish set up for sky, do i have to point it anywhere else in order for freeview to go? or will i be able to just plug it in and we're away?

sorry if this has been covered elsewhere.

Cheers

GD

Gidday, we really should get a sticky topic setup for this type of question, but essentially all you need to do is plugin and go. Only things to be aware of is, how old the sky install is, if its one of the very early ones (or has not been updated in the last 4-5yrs) then if it has an original Calamp LNB on the dish it may not work, most of these original LNBs have long sinced died, but if its been in recent use (ie last 3-4yrs) then it should be ok.

Sky uses the same satellite (Optus D1 at 160E) as Freeview so the dish should already be aligned.

If its a single throat LNB with a round radome (the white plastic cover over the tip of the LNB) then you will most likely need to set the LNB LO frequency in the freeview setup to 11300MHz, otherwise if its a dual throat (oval radome) then the LNB LO frequency is 10750MHz, how this is done is explained in the documentation that comes with the STB.

Cyril
