I bought a new tv cabinet and carefully labelled all the cables so I could move the equipment over without stuffing the whole thing up but now having connected it all up again, I can't get TV 1, 2 or 3 or any of the channels through the normal aerial.  I can pick up prime and maori television through uhf but neither the tv (Sony Bravia) or the DVD recorder (Sony RDR-HX1010) can tune into TV 1 2 or 3.  I have another tv which is spliced into the outdoor aerial and that is still getting those channels.  The aerial that plugs into the DVD recorder travels back to a black charger thing that plugs into power outlet - could that be the problem? I tried just plugging the outdoor aerial straight into the tv bypassing the dvd and still didn't get any signal. Sky is all fine - no problem there - it just started up as normal when I reconnected everthing and dvd recorder working fine in recording through L4 outlet.  Using the tuning mechanism on both the tv and dvd recorder - it just picks up prime, maori and a few other random channels.
I hope someone can help me - I have pretty limited knowledge with these things but do consult the manual:-)

Very strange...check that the Black charger thing (an amp to boost the signal) has power going to it and that all the cables
are connected.

Others will shed more light.

Also check that the in and out are the right way around for the power injector that connects to the charger.

Thanks for the suggestions - I'm now starting to think it has something to do with my DVD recorder settings, reading the manual it talks about the tuning system and I think the unit has somehow defaulted back to the factory settings which may not be right for NZ...I'm going to try contacting Sony to find out what the normal tuning settings are for NZ...because the manual is just too confusing!
