Hi my reciever only has one input for an optical cable but I really want both my PS3 and Xbox360 connected to it so I dont have to keep changing it all the time.  Can you get a double adaptor type thing for this.  I know you can get AV centre things like this http://www.futureshop.co.uk/av-control-centre-245c-black-componentsvideo-optical-audio-p-796.html but I dont need the video splitting as I have enough component cable inputs.

Hmm - this looks like a one into two connection but it might work the other way so long as both inputs are not active at the same time.

I had a similar problem - only one Toslink input on my AVR but want to connect up a PS3 and HD-DVD player for 5.1 sound. I ended up purchasing one of these

They don't ship here but I will be in the US to pick it up.

It's only light, right? So it should work both ways identically.... I am guessing. If both units are on at same time, then I'd imagine the receiver might get somewhat confused. It's only $14, so may be worth experimenting with.

Looks like what I purchased off Amazon. Slightly more expensive (I paid US$16 in total) but at least it's local

Thanks guys, in the end I went for the 4 Way Optical Switch Box from Jaycar as I also needed an optical cable and it came with one.  It was quite cheap looking in the store but when I got it out of the packaging I was quite suprised at how solid it feels.  Well it does the job perfectly as well no problems with the strength of the signal and I have another input ready if I need it.  I would recommend this to anyone needing something similar.
