Hi. Updated EPG Collector with the latest version and I am unable to open the EPG Centre. The little circle just goes around and around. I have re-started the PC but that did nothing to fix it. Also the EPGCollector.exe which loads up the next 7 days of programs into Windows Media Centre has stopped running at the point 'The file version number for mcepg.dll is 6.3.9600.16384' which follows 'Running Windows Media Centre Utility to export data'. I have this set up to run as a scheduled task upon startup. Appears that this latest version has caused the program to stop or fail - any ideas please?
Hi, It was zip. I downloaded to my PC then as per previous updates copied into the Geekzone/EPGCollector folder which overwrites the previous version. I have done this successfully with previous updates.
The MSI is a Microsoft installer (like an .exe file)
You can download it from Sourceforge.net
It's the last file in the list: EPG Collector V040300 install.msi
Just download it to a folder on your computer... find the .msi file in the folder, click (or double click) on it to run the install.
From memory it will install in the original Geekzone EPG Collector directory ie where you have the previous install, but keep all the old settings including the output file directory etc.
From there it's just a matter of running the collection as you did before from the desktop shortcut
Incidentally, is there anything listed in the EPG Collector log file when you try and load EPG Centre v4.3? As soon as it starts it lists the version numbers of it's various components plus some other stuff so if those lines are there it is an indication that it has at least loaded and started.
I will check that out later. what I did before the last few posts, I moved all the files in the EPG Collector folder to another newly created folder with a different name, thus leaving a clean folder for the MSI to load into. Is this the same as uninstall/deleting everything?
Nothing I try seems to get the latest version to run so have gone back to V4.2, which works. My PC runs on Windows 8.1 Pro. I would still like to know why the old version works but the new version does not.
