I have a Zinwell satellite receiver which 99% of the time works really well.
But it does have a problem which really drives me crazy.  Intermittently the picture will stall / hang for between 1 - 2 seconds. ( this can happen up to 8 times a night ).
The dish I'm using is new and the signal levels are sitting around the 99% mark and the latest firmware is loaded.
Any suggestions?

Take it back, this is one of a long list of known issues with these boxs, latter batches had most problems fixed. If you have the option of getting a refund then take it get yourself a Strong or a Topfield.

One possible fix you could try is to insert a splitter in the line, reason being is that the tuners in these are over sensitive, so a good signal can often be too much for them, adding a splitter is often enough to get the levels below the threshold where the tuner crushes.

Failing that, take it back.
