I bought a 5.8GHz Wireless Audio-Video Transmitter/Receiver the other day. It works fine (for a 1 level house) if you connect say a VCR (Tx) and TV (Rx).  However when I connect it too my PC at the SVideo out, the quality is fairly poor on the TV no matter what the distance. I've also had to "force" my nvidia card into "TV detect" mode, it doesn't automatically detect the svideo port being used like it does with a TV.
I am using a GForce 6800 Ultra (with the latest drivers).

Any suggestions as to why this is going on? Any tests I can do?

Is the adaptor cable you are using to turn it to composite video the one that was supplied with the vga card? Have you changed the videocard to output composite rather then svideo?

No it wasn't supplied with the video card but yes i have tried the different settings like "Svideo"/"Rca"/"Composite"...neither worked.
I did however figure out that the video card was sending out an NTSC signal and not PAL - by changing the TV to "NTSC" the quality was much better.

My only issue now is how to get my video card to send out a PAL signal - I couldn't find this setting anywhere...Any ideas?

Chances are its a passive combining cable, these tend to suck since the zipper reduction on the video cards encoder will not be active and the levels usually end up wrong because of the loss from the passive combination.

You need a cable that connects the composite out to one pin of the svideo jack and to set it to composite in the properties. The pal/ntsc options should be in the same place.
