Hi there,
I have a Panasonic TV model number TH-42PV70AZ. This TV is HDMI but it's about 10 years old or so.
6 months ago I bought a new Panasonic BD-84 Blu Ray player. I have noticed that I seem to be getting almost constant audio drop outs when using the player with this TV.
It happens regardless of what I am watching (blu rays, DVDs, video files) and it drops out for about 1-2 seconds before going back to normal. If I rewind to where the audio drops out, the audio will be there again.
After much going round in circles, I have realized that this may be an HDCP issue which is coming about due to the age of the TV.
I have heard that you can get HDCP strippers that remove the HDCP signal altogether and theoretically should eliminate my problem.
I am curious as to whether anyone out there has encountered anything like this before and if so, did an HDCP stripper solve the problem?
Is there anywhere I can get one in NZ or will I have to order one from overseas?
Thanks for your time.
DL.
