I’m looking for suggestions of a simple-to-operate setup for Mum as I’m a novice when it comes to things like media centres.
There’s not much that appeals to her on FTA and she hasn’t missed being able to record FTA since the digital switchover.
She doesn’t have (or want) the internet, Sky or a smart TV.
She mainly watches DVDs through a cheapo player, either store-bought, borrowed from the local library or disks I’m creating by digitising her VHS library.
One thing with that though is that if she’s watching several different dvds of TV series at once, rather than rely on her 90+ memory, she writes down which episode she’s up to for each dvd.
So in whatever new setup she’d be learning, would episodes get flagged so she can see where she's up to or could she even delete them after she’s watched them?
She doesn’t live far away so I don’t mind the option of rotating two hard disks so she can be watching one while I load the other.
So any ideas? Maybe up to $500 – that’s not much of my inheritance 8-)
TIA
