Im currently using a Acer3705DTV widescreen TV.
Im trying to get freeview to go full screen using ffdshow.

I cant find a way for mediaportal to ignore the size of the incoming TV picture and just display it full screen, so I dont get any black wasted space at the top and side of my screen.
My freeview box can do it so im sure mediaportal can too.

Any ideas?

Cheers

To get freeview taking up the whole screen with my mediaportal setup i need to set the mediaportal aspect ratio to 'zoom' It's not a permanent fix or anything, it's really a rather annoying hack, but it works.

I'm sure there must be a better way. Let me know if you find one.

Zooming in is the only way and even this won't work very well. 4:3 content transmitted by all Freeview channels inside a 16:9 frame so there is no other way.

Personally I far prefer watching 4:3 material in it's proper aspect ratio with black borders left and right, IMHO there is nothing worse that having stuff stretched horizontally!

As for black borders on the top - what channel is this on?
