Way back when I last did this i just trolled the code at metservice.co.nz and snaffled the relevant image links for MP.

I can't brain today. I have the dumb.

Disrespective: These arre the ones that i use.

Weather
from here: http://www.metvuw.com/nzweather/index.php?type=tempc

Wind : http://www.metvuw.com/nzweather/2007092500_wind.gif
Pressure : http://www.metvuw.com/nzweather/2007092500_press.gif
Precipitation : http://www.metvuw.com/nzweather/2007092500_precip.gif
Temperature : http://www.metvuw.com/nzweather/2007092500_temps.gif

Thats rather handy if you always want to know what the weather was like on september 25 last year.

I assume those require some kind of script or page scraper to get the up to date version? I found a satellite image which is updated on the tvnz website though.

Metservices ones are also date based, which i assume means you need some kind of script.

Hmm... the main link gives you the weather for the current date, the others are just old as i emailed them to a friend many moons ago and just copied what i sent to him.

You are right though, i never use the weather images so would never have noticed them not changing (i doubt i even have them set up any more) it would be best to use a scraper of some sort to get the latest ones off of the metservice website.

Any NZ mediaportal users with spare time want to write a metservice scraper/weather plugin for all info?

Or just updating images would be nice.

Don't have access to the tv-server configuration at the moment, but, the mediaportal configuration has the city setup in it. Where do you put the link in the configuration (RC1, with latest SVN applied)?

Not sure if this link will be fine, haven't got access to the system at the moment, but, it looks like it might work (no nice animation though)...
