Hi all

I used to have a Pioneer 520HS hdd recorder and it had a setting whereby I could put it into standby and wait for a signal from my maxplus satellite set top box to record.

So I would go into the menu on my satellite tuner and highlight and select the upcoming programme I wished to record and then put the dvd/hdd recorder on standby and at the specified time the set top box would wake up the hdd recorder and start recording, then turn it off again afterwards.

Does anyone know what that finction is called? Or more about it. I cannot remember exactly how it was done. I now have a panasonic HDD recorder and the same set top box and I cant work out how to accomplish the same thing, or even how it was done.

Just posting this on the off chance someone will be familiar with what I am talking about.

Thanks in advance
Steve

Thanks for that. It's a feature I am going to miss. It was great to be able to select whatever you like in the stb and then trust it would record instead of setting up recordings.

Looks like it is dependant on the dvd/hdd recorder.
