Hi

I am new to this digital TV setup.

I was thinking of buying a Dreambox DM500 for S connection.  Can these still be purchased?  Are they all 2nd hand in NZ now?

Are there any left overs from the DM600PVR order?  Did this get placed or still waiting for more interest?  Does this model allow C. Share too?

I am wondering if I should buy a DM or a MyPVR or just build my own MythTV PC.  Can C. Share be setup on MyPVR or MythTV?  Are there any other set top boxes like DM that run Linux and that do allow this?

I don't have a dish yet.  What size is used by Sky/Freeview normally?  What other satellites and english channels are visible from this dish?  (Or what sites list these?)

Thanks

I am a F1 fan and would like to watch this.  It is a shame it would cost nearly $800 a year to enable this and still have adds!!

First up what do you mean by C.Share? I have an idea and I hope i'm wrong.

myPVR is MythTV, it just arrived pre-configured and comes with support. If you want to try out MythTV I'd personally recommed Mythbuntu, Mythdora or Knoppmyth as they simplify things.

depends what you want to do.

If you want to watch Sky with it, get a Dreambox, nothing else will work.  And even then, you still need to have a legit subscriber card. As for card sharing, this is not to be discussed here, is against the forum rules.

If you're not worried about that, then go for a HTPC I guess.

If you want to know what programming you can get Lyngsat.com is a good start.
