After a 4K HDR tv under a grand. Ideally a 100hz too so I'm leaning towards the LG or Samsung, anyone have any experience with them? These two are 898 and the tcl is 798! which is why it's in consideration.

The LG and Samsung don't actually go at 100Hz, google "True motion" it's just marketing.

Personally I would go for the TCL, make sure if you get the TCL that you check the panel for back light bleed and make sure you are happy with it.

I would go the TCL due to it being an Android TV.

Thanks. So what's the true refresh rate? The tcl says 60. Also would it's built in chromecast be the ultra version? Seems silly if it isn't.

I suspect they are 50Hz, heres a website to help: https://www.rtings.com/tv/learn/fake-refresh-rates-samsung-clear-motion-rate-vs-sony-motionflow-vs-lg-trumotion

According to the research I did, it does have the ultra Chromecast in it.

looking into the firm ware on the chromecast of my tcl  TV, it is Cast for Android TV — Firmware version 1.29.104695,  Chromecast Ultra is Firmware version 1.29.106401 so not sure if it is the ultra version.

Interesting, I'll grill the sales assistant on that. Since you have a TCL how is it?

its fine, netflix 4k looks really good. It takes a while to set up because the so called manual doesnt cover what all the settings do , or even that they are there, so if you like fiddling then you are in your element. for example i found a setting for sport today under system, you can turn it off or on . No idea what it is for or what it does.  But for the money its great , the apps work well , quick to start but again no idea what half of them do and again, Netflix is great.
