I didn't want to put this post in the MySkyHD thread so thought I'd start this off.

Does anyone have a link or know the specifications of the forthcoming SkyHD?

Things like hard drive capacity, is the hard drive partitioned for Sky to use at a later date (like the UK version), how many LNB's are required for SkyHD and so on?

I have looked at the Sky site and to say information is short is an understatement

Pictures would be good too

Thanks for the links guy's.

So looks like when Sky come around to install this they will have to also install a dual (at least) or 2nd LNB.

I thought I read that two LNBs aren't required in NZ, only Aus.

Isn't more than one LNB required for the other tuners to work?

No. There is one line in and then there is an internal splitter arrangement in the box for the tuners.

Unlike Foxtel, SkyNZ only transmits on one polarity (Hpolarity) hence currently only one lead is needed from the LNB. As others have said the upcoming MySkyHDi has an internal multiswitch which means it will distribute the single input to all the internal tuners. The current SD MySky does not have such a switch so a splitter is normally installed directly behind the STB to distribute the signal to both tuners.

This is different to the Foxtel setup as they use both Vpol and Hpol so need two feeds from the LNB.
