Hi All,
I am slowly getting my head around the MediaPortal stuff, but am not able to get image quality on the TV that is equal to what I get of the Sky STB. Just need some help to make sure on am on the right path.
So, I have split the dish feed in two, one goes to the STB, the other to an HVR-3000.
The 3000 is tuned and picks up all the encrypted and unencrypted channels (are these sky and Freeview Satelitte? This also confuses me). The plan is to put the Jaycar card reader in and do away with the STB. But while I test this, I still need the STB to keep the WAF high (its bad enough that I have to use the TV screen to set this up).
I digress... The TV is a 46inch Bravia X Series. Graphics card is Nvidia 8600GTS (256mb). Vista 64bit runs nicely at 1080 on the TV. When mediaportal is running in non fullscreen mode, the picture quality is amazing, but putting it full screen, the quality is not quite there. Flicking betwen the PC and the STB images, quality difference is reasonably notiecable (well, I can notice it).
I have been playing around with ffdshow and have managed to increase the quality. Is it just a matter of playing around with the config of ffdshow until I get it right, or am I way off track? I have only just learnt about codecs etc so am totally new to this kind of thing.
Hopefully this is easily fixed and I would appreciate any tips that people have picked up while playing with this.
Thanks
