Hi All,
Here goes...
My gear is at the back of the room (HTPC and receiver)... so, curtrently I have to point the remote behind me to do stuff...
At the moment I am looking for one-of-two options, an RF to IR receiver, or an IR repeater at the front of the room hardwired to the gear at the back of the room via an amplified IR connecting block.
Easy to do with the receiver, I simply plug one of the ir connector block outputs directly into the 'flasher in' on the receiver... However, I want the same 'flasher in' input for my HTPC...
I have a Haupuage NOVA-T-500 which has the small 2.5 TRS connector for plugging in the included haupuage IR repeater. Can I use this input as a 'flaser in', wired directly to the IR connector block? ...
Or, is there a USB solution that will give me an IR flasher input??
Would be nice if I could re-use the haupuage IR repeater at the front of the room, which would be wired back to the connector block, as it's very small and discrert compared to many other repeaters.... but I'm thinking the haupuage repeater may not be designed to allow this...??
Any thoughts, ideas, advise would be great!!! ...before I start making things smoke...
...if only I could afford to throw in an AMX solution... then I'd just go RS232 all the way!
cheers
