Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you all had a wonderful day.

I have received a DVD Recorder and a receiver from my parents but I have tried to hook it up and cant...well thats not entirely true. I have hooked it up so I can get receiver sound with sky and movies but what I want to do is record Sky without having to watch what I am recording. I think I amy have to get some extra cables but am unsure. Can anyone help please?

Hopefully the following connections info is enough for you, my TV is quite old (5 or so years)

TV:
RCA Monitor Out
RCA Input 1

RCA Input 2

DVD RECORDER:
RF In and Out
AV1 SCART TV
AV2 SCART Decoder
AV4 RCA In and Out
AV4 S-Video In and Out
Component Video Out - Y, Pb, Pr

SKY DECODER:
Dish Input (wire from wall to decoder)
RF In and Out
SCART TV
SCART VCR

RECEIVER PIONEER:
Video:   S-Video
            RCA Video yellow only
Audio:   TV In
            Line In and Out

Optical: Line 2 In

Thanks for any help in advance. If I can get any more info you need please let me know. Thanks

Unfortunatly you can't watch one channel and watch another with a standard Sky decoder. You'd have to get mySky for that.
Your other option is to buy a cheap Freeview satellite decoder and use that in tandem with your sky decoder. You can pick one up for under $150 from www.freeviewshop.co.nz or give Glenn at www.dbnz.co.nz a call, I got my freeview decoder from him and found him very good.
