Hi everyone.
My current setup has a PS3, a Pioneer DV350 DVD player about 10yo??, Old Sony VCR, Sky box (old black Motorola) A new Denon AVR and a new full HD LCD. My plan is to soon remove the Sky box and VCR to be replaced by MySky HD - this will then take up my 2nd HDMI input (the PS3 currently has the other one). Ultimately I plan to remove the PS3 back to the kids' TV and replace it with a dedicated Bluray player to get the gamers (read kids) off the family viewing system.
One issue I have at present is with playing DVDs. I have quite a collection of region 2 DVDs.
The current DVD player is multiregioned so is fine for playing anything, but the output options are SCART or composite so I'm not seeing anything better than I had on the CRT TV.
The PS3 is NZ purchased so is DVD Region 4, although it does play some of my R2 movies.
So firstly, is it possible to multiregion a PS3 DVD; if so how?
If not possible (which I think is the probable answer), then what are people's thoughts on replacing the Pioneer with a (say) DSE HDMI DVD for $90 - the plus I see is it will upscale (but so will the AVR) and is multiregion; the downside is I'm then going to need a HDMI switch as I will have 3 HDMI inputs (when MySky is in soon)
