hi,
my stupid boyfriend brought his home theatre system before he meet me and it never came with the remote (brand new) which it think was quite strange
anyway the model number is

RM-SP320
i have searched on the web but hve only found US site's that are highly expensive. any ideas would help heaps.

would help if you tell us the brand of it

it is very weird if it's new and it doesn't come with remote

you could go back to whoever sold it and ask for it as it should be supplied with one or ask them if they could organise a replacement remote for you

a universal remote like Harmony, that is avail from all major shops could be an option, the added bonus is this remote will also control

yes he has allredy tried contacting the store and they just kinda brush us off as it was over to years go now.

the brand is sony

+1 for the harmony remote ($100 or less for the Harmony 525)

Its not like the old universal remotes from 10 years ago this one you plug into a computer, tell it the model devices you have in the house and it lets you setup activities to say watch a dvd, turn tv on, turn channel to av input, turn dvd player on and press play.

It will probably cost you about as much as a proper replacement remote anyway but will be far better.

He is being helpful. He bought a replacement remote for his Sony from the outfit he posted and it was only $15. Can't hurt to give them a call and see what they can do.

Sony have/had a replacement parts phone number in Auckland you could ring, give them your credit card and get things like new remotes couriered to your door.

hey, calm down, I was just trying to be helpful, not being a smartass as all

the replacement remote I got from Tradetech was the original remote that went with the stereo, not some generic model. My point was that it cost much less than I expected.

woops... sorry! Took that completely the wrong way.. and I should have picked up on it too as I had a similar experiance.

I lost a silicon earbud for my sony headphones. Did not even think to go to sony at first. Found some on ebay but they were $7 US plus postage.

Went to Tradetech and they charged me $1 per bud. I got 4. Could not believe it.

So once again very sorry!!
