Hello.  I am new.  I often use this website for checking out things I am considering buying, so I thought I would sign up and post my frustrating problem ............
I think I am procrastinating because I don't want to be without my DVD recorder for a week while they fix it ;)

18 months ago, we bought a Samsung DVD-HR755 DVD recorder.  Everything has been fine, until the New Year.  At that time, programmes we had set to repeat record at a the same time each week, started to record on the wrong day.  We checked all the calendar/time settings etc and we deleted the record setting and re-set it, to see if that would help, but it hasn't.
I phoned Samsung tech support and they weren't all that helpful and said they'd never heard of that happening and it would cost X amount to inspect, as it is out of warranty.
I am surprised they haven't heard of the problem, because I found it elsewhere on the web when I googled it (although I couldn't find any answers to it!).
I am assuming there is a glitch with the intenal calendar somehow.  (Sorry about my basic descriptions of things - I am not vey techo at all.)
I also assumed perhaps it was a year or two out, so tried setting it as though it was 2008, 2007, 2010 etc, but I couldn't seem to make any connections there either ........ seems it isn't an OBVIOUS year, anyway (if you know what I mean).

I have been back to where we purchased it from and they will look at it, but as I say, I'm going to suffer a bit if I haven't got it for a week  :)

Just wondered whether anyone else has come across something similar?

Many thanks
Shorty

It seems rather bizarre for a DVD recorder to be having calendar problems but there is a 28 year cycle so 2009 is the same as 1998 as far as matching date with day.

Thanks.  I will have a think about the 28 year cycle and try a few test records.
At the moment, when we set it to record on Saturdays, it records on Mondays.
