I was one of the many trying to get this remote going with my HTPC.

Here is how I finally got it working for MediaPortal on my XP box

1. I downloaded this driver e-home rollup driver. and extracted it to some directory i.e c:\ir
2. edit irbus.inf and change this line:

%USB\VID_045E&PID_006D.DeviceDesc%=IrBus_v2, USB\VID_1784&PID_0006

to read this:

%USB\VID_045E&PID_006D.DeviceDesc%=IrBus_v2, USB\VID_1784&PID_0008


and also change this line:

ExcludeFromSelect=USB\VID_1784&PID_0006

to read like this:

ExcludeFromSelect=USB\VID_1784&PID_0008

3. Plug in the receiver and when it asks for drivers point it to the c:\ir directory.

4. Hardware should install and be happy.

5. Go to this site http://www.byremote.com.au/HIP/Default.htm and download this wondefull program.

6. Spend a bit of time learing about it. Configure and run.

7. Dance around the room in excitement.
