I'm having a fair bit of trouble connecting my XFX 8400gs to my tv via a composite cable, and I don't have the standard adapter (not sure if it came with one and I lost it or what).

I spent way too many hours trying to get it to work using the adapter from my Radeon 4850 HD with no luck and eventually found on wiki (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S-Video) that the 8400gs uses a different pin for composite signal (5) to the ATI cards (pin 7) - Confirmed my adapter is using pin7 with a voltmeter.

I have another tv with a S-Video input and this connection works perfectly. I've also got a S-Video to Composite merging adapter (as opposed to one that just reads the composite output pin) and this works when i boot using the s-video cable and switch over while it's running. Otherwise it doesn't detect the tv and refuses to switch to it.

So I guess my question is, is there anywhere to get a proper adapter that will use the composite output pins?
I can't find anywhere that sells official nvidia ones and theres a few generic adapters on trademe but with very limited info on how they work and which pins they would connect to.

Sorry about the tl;dr.
