Hi,
I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have a Sony Bravia KLV-40S550A and I am trying to play a video file on a USB stick. I have tried to play an MPEG4 file, it sees it but then when I go play the file is says "Playback not available". I am sure there is a simple solution to this but getting pretty annoyed. I can play photo jpgs and music mp3 files.

Tash - the Sony can probably only play back a few types of video files (there are hundreds of different types). The MPEG4 file probably isn't one of the ones that the TV can play back.

The only alternative is to use a PC to play it back, sorry.

Does the manual say the TV supports video playback?

If it does that formats does it say it supports? If it does mention MPEG4 support what are you using to create the video files as there are a large number of MPEG4 video format.

Hey all, thank you for your help. Turns out that it has to be an MPEG-1 file. Works a treat now!
