I have a Samsung Series 6 HD LCD TV and an ASUS pro50 series laptop. I am trying to use the tv as a monitor which worked fine if i only want display or audio. It cant seem to be able to handle both as when i turn the source to pc, the audio cables are in the component source and etc. There is no DVD-I input in the laptop so i cant do that. The display is through a VGA cable but there is only one sound input in the tv and its like a headphone jack. I was wondering how I'm supposed to be able to use it since the manual is pretty much useless. Is it possible to get a cable with one male connector at one end and only one male connector at the other? Or is this all some devious plot to annoy me? Any help would be appreciated.
Most Samsung's that I've seen have an audio input for VGA which is probably the 3.5mm input you're talking about. If it is this you just need to get a 3.5mm to 3.5mm male lead which as mentioned above DSE sell.
I had this idea last night to leave the display connected to the TV and plug the audio into my stereo but there was no sound coming out. I've hooked the laptop up to the stereo using a 3.5mm to rca lead before without any problems so there's no reason it shouldnt be working now. Any suggestions?
