I'm testing the new (and so far excellent) EPG Collector, and I think it's doing a great job, but when I look at the listings (after attempting to import the new information with "Big Screen") it appears the old data from previous loads has been retained. Is there any way to purge the old information and start fresh?

A fix for this might also sort out another problem I'm having with multiple data sources. Both in "Big Screen" and in the WMC TV Guide setup, I find multiple instances of channels and sources (eg. DVB-T is listed twice as a source, while the new Sky data (which should be DVT-S is not).

I've got the same issue. I had to do this once before and the only way I could find was to use the reset to factory settings button in big screen epg but obviously that had an undisired side affect (it worked tho)

Thanks -- yes - I saw that option after I posted the question -- and I'm happy to go through all that work to re-build the channels *IF* I can be assured that it is a permanent fix.

I still haven't figured out the channel matching and I'm guessing that's the key -- I've got a question in to Niall about it and I'm hoping he can sort me out.

well my (untested) permanent fix is to scrap bigscreenepg and then use loadxmltomxf instead which hopefully wont do it...

I need to do this but i really don't want to reset my mediapc, kinda hoping someone will post a solution here...

My understanding is that this is essentially what the button in BSE does (I think it invokes some built in reset "switch"). The BSE button works fine in 32bit but has unpleasant side effects in 64bit. It's designed to completely wipe all MC info so you have to go through the whole setup again.

Thanks for the feedback folks - my current thinking is that I haven't got channel matching right in BSE and that, in turn, has screwed up the listings, and then (I'm hoping this is true) resulted in lost channel settings.

If anyone has a rock solid methodology for establishing "channel matching" in Big Screen EPG I'd love to hear it (my appologies to the two folks who have tried to explain it to me already).

The problem is that I don't know what I'm matching -- what data (fields?) in BSE get matched in WMC (or does the match actually happen on data from the tuner card setup?)

I think I'm pretty close - most everything else seems to be working pretty well.
