Hi All,

I'm thinking about building an HTPC using some PC Parts that i picked up kinda cheap.
I have been reading a bunch of the threads in here learning about how everything goes together, but before i actually build anything I wanted to make sure I was on the right track,

First off: Hardware.

I plan to build my HTPC using:

Intel E6400 2.1ghz - Stock cooler
Gigabyte 965P-DS3 Mobo
2GB of Generic DDR2 800 ram
500W Antec PSU
ATI HD4670 Video Card (Using an HDMI Adapter, as it only has DVI Out)
HTPC style case
1TB Samsung Drive for Data
Smaller HDD (Possibly 80GB) for OS
Asus DVD Drive
Creative Gamer Soundcard (Sound on Mobo seems to be dead)

Question: Is this hardware sufficient to run a decent HTPC that will be attached to a Sony W4500 Bravia 46"

Next: Software
It seems as though I have several options when it comes to software, ones that I am aware of are Win7 Media Centre and Mediaportal

Question: Given this is my first build, would Win7MC be easier to configure / use?

Next: TV Card
My goal here is to use my existing Sky subscription (with HD), which TV Card is going to suit my needs? Some threads have indicated that they are having issues with Hauppage cards and switching to Nova cards, is this a common?
If possible i would like to be able to record one channel while watching an other (For this i guess I will require two tuners?)

Question: What type of TV Card is going to be best for my?

Thanks to anyone who takes the time to answer my (possibly stupid) questions :D

You build sounds a lot like mine (see my sig). So yes, that hardware is sufficient.

Win7 MC is definitely a lot easier to setup than MediaPortal, I used to use Mediaportal but I threw it away when I got Windows 7, and I'm much happier.

Regarding the TV card, I have no idea how to get Sky working; I don't have Sky. But yes you will need a card with 2 tuners if you want to record one while watching another.
