Hey all.

Hopefully im in the right place with this,if not my bad and im sorry if ive messed anything up,will be deleted.

(My first post)

So,ive got an xfx 9600gt card: http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/xfx_9600_gt/

And Dick Smith has this on offer for $850: http://www.dse.co.nz/dse.shop/en/product/GE6012

So,masterminds of GZ,I propose to you this...

What cables/adapters will I need to make this work for me,it boils down to using the LCD Tv as an everyday monitor (Gaming/movies etc),is it possible to do?

Little Back story: My good friend got the above card in a PC he bought of trademe,he decided to upgrade cards, and awesomely gave me the 9600gt for my PC (unfortunately,minus relevant accessories/adapters etc)

The card in the review had no HDMI out, so all you need is an HDMI cable and a DVI to HDMI adapter. See if Dick Smith can throw in one or both in when you buy the TV.

DSE will sell it as an all in one, DVI-HDMI cable.

Remember, you will still need sound. What are you wanting to do on that front?

The links you posted don't work.

For sound you could just keep using your speakers, or get a cable to plug from your sound card into the TV.

Just ask the guys at Dick Smith when you buy the TV, they'll be able to help you.

For the XFX 9600GT there may be a audio connection to allow you to use just the DVI-hdmi cable (or DVI-hdmi adapter and hdmi-hdmi cable).
If there is a audio in socket on the rear plate of the card then you can connect your spdif out on your computer to that using an RCA cable, or
You can go directly from the spdif header on your motherboard to the audio connector on the card (this is what I have done).

Yea man,im just using my speakers/sub into the onboard soundcard,then,when I watch tv it just uses its own speakers,which I dont mind because I really dont watch too much TV lol.

Mods,you can delete this if you want.
