Hi all,

I recently put together my first HTPC. I purchased an HVR 2200 due to it being a dual-tuner hybrid card. I assumed that I would be able to have tuner#1 recording analogue from my Telstraclear STB and tuner#2 recording DVB-T. I set up analogue tuner#1 to work with my STB and did not set up analogue tuner#2. Everything worked well.
However, when I went to set up my DVB-T it gave me the option to use 2 DVBT tuners. Is this right? Which one do I use? Is W7MC even capable of handling digital and analogue inputs at the same time? Is my card capable of this? Will W7MC handle two different program guides?

Yes setup both. If the analogue tuner you setup is not needed for live TV or recording then MC will be able to use it for DVB-T. It will not be used unless the other tuner is busy and although I have not had the situation it should tell you if it is needed to record analogue and you are using it for DVB-T.

I'm sorry for digging this back up again but I cannot get them to work together. Alalogue #1 is set up for the Saturn box. DVB-T #1 and DVB-T #2 are also set up for freeview. However, when I set up the DVB-T tuners all my saturn epg data and channels are wiped. I cannot access any of the saturn channels only freeview. They don't even show up. What am I doing wrong? Are you sure that the HVR-2200 and W7MC are capable of doing it? I have been trying to get it to work for the last week or so to no avail.

OK both the Freeview and Telstra channels will be there. Once you have tuned in both the Telstra channels and the freeview channels you need to go into Settings -> TV -> Guide and then merge the Freeview and Telstra channels. You should find the Freeview channels after the Telstra ones.

You will also need to use one of the EPG tools to import the EPG data.

Ok, I have got it all working now. I only have one DVB-T tuner and one analog tuner set up. How would I get the second one to work? I know I would have conflicts with the analog tuner as they are the same physical tuner, but I want to set it up so I have two tuners doing freeview channels and the analog ONLY doing the Saturn channels (no free to air).

On a slightly related note the freeview HD and DD 5.1 seem to be messing with my HDMI connection. When I use my logitech Harmony to turn of the TV and AV reciever (leaving the HTPC on to record channels overnight) I get strange errors when everything is turned back on. The screen displays a Video Error and I have to restart W7MC. Sometimes the screen resolution will decrease to minimum resolution in W7MC (Still 1080P out of MC). The resolution is fixed by turning the tv on and off again but I still have the video error. This is making me think that it is a handshake error.

Any ideas? (BTW I am using the integrated video and HDMI connection on my 785G board)

I am not aware of the being any way to add the additional tuner without blowing away what you have already setup.
It has been awhile since I have had to setup MC but from memory when I set it up I setup the analogue feed from the Telstra STB first. I then immediately (while still in the wizard) added DVB-T and selected both turners (or in my case all 4 as I also have two HVR 3000's). When the wizard finished I then scanned for DVB-T channels and MC placed them after the 999 STB numbering .
From there it was a matter of merging the Freeveiw channels where they crossed with Telstra clear channels. I did untick the Telstra feed for those channels.
Unticked the channels that do not exist on the STB so they do not appear and finally setup BSE to provide the EPG data (turning off inband EPG data).
