I've been running Win 7 MC with a PVR-150MCE card and Big Screen EPG for some time very happily, but thought I'd better get off analogue and go digital. SO - having had such a good run with my old Hauppauge card I went for the very well priced TD-500 dual tuner from PlayTech.

Popped it in, re-setup TV in Media Center and away it went - until Media Center started crashing after channel changes in Live TV. It *never* crashed with my 150.

My card is a Model 1257 (86xxx series)

Has anyone else had similar problems, or (hopefully) good experiences with the TD-500 in Win 7 MC?

Cheers, Pete

I need to add that I get artifacting as well - and my Panasonic TV on the same aerial connection gets a perfect Freeview picture.

I've applied the updated beta drivers and same things occur.
Also tested Hauppauge's WinTV software to see if it is a Media Center issue - no crashed when I tested things for a wee while, but I certainly got the artifacting.

I think this card will be going back :o(

Had these problems as well, i sent it back.

I have been very underwhelmed by Hauppauge recently. I changed to Avermedia tuners and everything went from being slow/broken to just working.

I bought my TD-500 from Playtech a few weeks ago, hasn't skipped a beat in MediaPortal. I have read a number of Forums where people have returned the product, have you ever thought of giving MediaPortal a go? I like how configurable it is, and there's loads of plugins and skins for it.

Good to know somebody is having a good experience, but my wife and kids are comfortable with Media Center so I'm not intending to change the platform to suit this card. :o)

Plus - I'm sceptical about it working on my PC in anything when WinTV also has visible quality issues.

You should not be getting crashes in W7 MC changing channels that's for sure. I would get it replaced or if the TD-500 is giving issues for more people (as it sounds like it may be) see if you can exchange for something else. I have found the 2200 to be a good card.

this card has issues in Windows 7. the 500-T is fine but the TD will exibit artifacting. It works fine under Vista so it seems to be a driver issue.

I would recommend getting a replacemnent 500-T if you can or stop using windows 7.
