about a month ago I bought a 40" Samsung LCD and have my ps3 hooked up to it via hdmi. everythiong seems to be going smoothly except when I borrowed a mates transformers 2 blu ray - when I play it all I hear is the background noise like music sound effects but none of the main sound like voices etc? not too sure whats going on....

also just a bit off topic anyone know how to play a video file with PCM audio? or do I need an amp to decode the sound. as im just playing through tv speakers. tried like every single media player and codec AC# coded files play fine.

thanks in advance!

What is your PS3 set to output? try changing to stereo if not already and see what happens. Sounds like your TV is only outputting the surround channels, not front and centre

Run it through the AV settings. If you do Auto it should pick up all the modes your TV supports.
