Hello all, first post here and hoping someone can help me with this.

I have just bought an Asus EB1501 as a HTPC, and am using a USB DVB-T tuner with 7MC to get freeview. Everything looks to be working fine, with the exception of TV3. Whenever I try to tune into TV3, i get about half a second of picture before it turns off and is replaced by an error message saying something along the lines of "Video Error-Files needed to display video are not installed correctly."

The system consists of a an Atom 330 (dual core) + NVIDIA ION, 2GB ram, Avermedia Twinstar tuner. I've installed the latest drivers for the ION, along with the shark007 codec pack. TV1, TV2, C4 etc all play flawlessely.

Anyone have any ideas? Do I need a different Codec?

Thanks

You shouldn't need *ANY* codec pack, TV3 works just fine with Windows 7 defaulkt codecs out of the box.

Any reason why you installed the other codec pack?

I have an Avermedia USB stick with Win7MC and don't have any problems (other than reception).

The only thing I can think of that's different about TV3 is that they use Dolby Digital audio.

They used to be the only ones broadcasting in 1080i, but I think TV1 and TV2 are as well now.

I wonder if one of your codecs is corrupt?

Have you tried using the TV software that came with your stick, rather than 7MC?

Might help locate the problem...

I installed the codec pack in a (failed) attempt to fix the TV3 problem.

I've seen on a few other forums that this may be down to a audio setting glitch. I'll try a few possible fixes there.

I had this problem when I bought a system using the same chipset a few months ago, from memory it was due to the audio driver for the nvidia/ion chipset, try locating the lastest HDMI audio driver from Nvidia that should fix the problem, mines works flawlessly now, without any extra codec packs

All sorted - updating the HDMI audio driver and messing around with the audio setting (disabling dolby surround and changing the output from 16 bit/48kHz to 16 bit/44kHz) did the job. Have removed the codec pack.
