Have just bought Play On Mini and it is great but I have a fundamental issue. It is a very basic problem but it seems to be so basic I can't find an answer anywhere

I downloaded AnyDVD so I could Rip my DVDs onto the PC hard drive and play back via the media player. I then copied a movie from the hard drive onto a USB stick and plugged it into the player. I found the file and started to play. All went well through the title sequence with a great, sharp picture -- all was looking good. But then ... the soundtrack that played was the version with the director commenting on the film and there is no way of getting to the proper soundtrack. The exact same file when played on the PC features the correct movie soundtrack.

What am I doing wrong?

Re-Rip and don't chose all audio. Select the main AC3 5.1 track instead (also saves HD space)

It'll be picking the first stream it finds as opposed to the 'primary' one. Esp if you can't launch the main video_ts.ifo

http://nickyguides.digital-digest.com/dvd-structure.htm explains the layout. The ACRyan may be picky.

Does it have an "Audio" button on the remote or the menu?

Thanks for your replies guys. The Nicky Pages link is very useful and I'll be having another try to get the movie to play properly this evening.

When using AnyDVD there doesn't seem to be any opportunity at the time of ripping/importing the DVD to specify what files you want or don't want - I saw this feature on DVD Shrink but don't know any other product that provides it.

Can anybody recommend one? Should I go back to DVD Shrink? I am quite happy to buy a product that works.

There is an audio button on the Playon remote but it doesn't give any option to select audio tracks from a file or folder, all it offers is "Night Mode On/Off" and whether you want audio output to go via HDMI and/or optical cable.

I've not used the later anydvd to know. But I use to sit it in realtime decrypt mode and use I think dvddecrypter to dump to HDD, I think it chose the default stream.

WinX DVD Ripper Platinum by Digiarty is the best software I have come across for this sort of thing - by a country mile.  Very easy to use.
